Switch from Stratum to Tokn

Stratum - formerly Authenticator Pro - and Tokn are close relatives: open source, offline, encrypted. Tokn reads Stratum backup files directly, so the switch is a two-step export and import.

How to switch, step by step

  1. 1

    Export a Stratum backup

In Stratum, open Settings, then Backup, and save an encrypted backup file to your device.

  2. 2

    Install Tokn

Get Tokn from Google Play or F-Droid. There is no account to create - set a vault password or fingerprint unlock and you are ready.

  3. 3

    Import the file in Tokn

In Tokn, open Import, choose Stratum, pick the backup file, and enter its password. All tokens come across in one pass.

  4. 4

    Verify and clean up

Check that a few codes match, create an encrypted Tokn backup, then wipe Stratum and delete the exported file.
