Switch from Authy to Tokn
Authy does not offer an export of your 2FA secrets - your tokens are tied to your phone number and Authy's cloud. The way out is to re-enroll each account once. It takes a little time, but you end up with codes you actually own, in an encrypted vault with backups under your control.

How to switch, step by step
- 1
List your accounts
Go through Authy and note every service you use it with. Keep Authy installed and working until the last account is moved.
- 2
Install Tokn
Get Tokn from Google Play or F-Droid. There is no account to create - set a vault password or fingerprint unlock and you are ready.
- 3
Re-enroll each account
For each service, open its security settings and choose to change or re-set up the authenticator app. Scan the new QR code with Tokn and confirm the code. Most services take under a minute.
- 4
Close out Authy
Once every account generates codes in Tokn, create an encrypted Tokn backup, then delete your Authy account so your phone number is no longer tied to it.
FAQ
Common questions
Can I export my keys from Authy?
Not officially. Authy has no export feature, and unofficial extraction tricks rely on outdated desktop apps and can break at any time. Re-enrolling each service once is the reliable path - and the last migration you will ever have to do this way.
How long does switching from Authy take?
Plan roughly a minute per account. A typical vault of 15 to 20 accounts is done in under half an hour.
What happens to my Authy account afterwards?
Request deletion in the Authy app or via Twilio's support so your phone number is detached. From then on your backups are encrypted files you own instead of a cloud tied to your SIM.
